Founding Citizens strives to augment existing efforts to enhance and proliferate democracy. As a nonpartisan organization, we collaborate with a wide variety of groups advocating for democracy reform, and assist by hyper-focusing on discrete advancements of key reforms.
Staff
Kara Hunt, Executive Director
Kara has over a decade of communications and marketing experience, with a particular focus on policy advocacy and education, digital campaigns, social media advertising, and website development. Throughout her career, Kara has developed messaging and communications for a variety of organizations, including work in climate policy and democracy reform. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary.
Marc Jaruzel, Policy Director
Marc began working on climate policy before shifting to focus on democracy and long-term institutions. His background includes policy research and issue advocacy at all levels of government. Marc previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and U.S. Army National Guard, with 10 years of service. He grew up on a small farm in Michigan and received his master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan.
